Do you think you should be able to sell your organs? In such popular television shows as law and order, the question of weather or not the government should be able to tell you that you cannot sell your organs has been a hot topic. Some facts: According to The United Network for Organ Sharing website, in the United states there are 90,706 people awaiting transplants, there are only 12,084 donors, and only 23,506 people have received transplants. The figures are staggering when you do the math. Without going into too much detail on the selection process of who get what organs, you have to be really really sick to get to the top of the list to get a transplant. Without further gum bumping I open the floor to debate!s
If you were able to sell your organs wouldn't decrease the number of people whodonated free of charge? Lets face it. Healthcare for poor people doesn't cover much when it comes to organ transplants. It covers the surgery and some of the meds but not he cost to get the organ out of one person and put itinto another. if people could charge what do you want to bet that the government would not cover that?
hmmmmm, i'm a bit of a humanitarian. so, i don't think organs and blood should be comodities open for the highest bidder.
I think that people who have money should be put into exactly the same catogory as those who don't. Iam however, not apposed to the idea of family members giving organs to fellow family members, as a gesture of love, not of welth.
I agree with loui if person is sick and there is a way to help them I think it should be done. Personally I dont think people should have to pay for serious health care. There is that much money in the world and more being made everyday shorly we can help people and stop them from dieing for free.
just so you know to trans plant a heart after everything meds hospital stay and all that $148,000
kidneys, $51,000
liver, $235,000
, Pancreas
, $70,000

Um, I'm not sure I'm down with the whole selling my organs to people who need it thing. I'll donate to whoever I want to donate to, and that probably means a family member of mine would get my kidney before a stranger would.
isn't it worrying how when it comes down to it, it always comes down to money?
People who wish to charge people to live are sick!
But what's the point of typing /me anyway, the action you want to perform doesn't happen whatch this for example.
what does /me have to do with this topic?
And, i'd give the organ to the first person on the list if they really needed it.
